Type: Pellet & BB air pistol
Manufacturer: Umarex
Model: Walther PPQ
Materials: Plastic (polymer) and metal construction
Weight: 1.37 pounds
Barrel: 3.9 inches, metal rifled
Propulsion: CO2 x 1
Action: Semi auto, double action only
Ammunition Type: .177 caliber Pellets and 4.5mm BBs
Ammunition Capacity: 8 shot rotary magazine
FPS: 360

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex Walther PPQ is a bit on the heavy side with most of the effort at the beginning and middle stages, right near the release point it does seem to lighten up a great deal making it easy to put pellets on the target. Just don't expect the PPQ to be the quickest rapid fire gun on the block because of this.

Accuracy: I shot this air pistol at a target from 20 feet away in a free standing position, and it performed well getting an impressive 1.5 inch grouping very close to the center of the target. The sights can be adjusted for windage if your aim is off to one side or the other. My Chrony Chronograph testing using 6.9 grain lead pellets fluctuated between 300 and 360 fps.

Build Quality: This is an almost all external polymer air gun with a good deal of metal components on the inside giving the Walther PPQ a decent overall weight and heft. Some of the external metal parts worth noting are the safety switch, slide release, and trigger. The fit and finish is very good on the PPQ and the plastic is the good stuff - there is a difference!

Realism: The Umarex Walther PPQ is a licensed replica of the real Walther PPQ semi auto pistol. It is a very close looking copy with the exception of some of the trade marks (P99 Q instead of PPQ). There is a lot of attention to detail that helps make this gun very believable!

  • Very reasonable price for a well-made full featured airgun.
  • Excellent reproduction of the real Walther PPQ semi auto pistol.
  • Shoots both pellets and BB's.
  • Rifled barrel.
  • Easy to use yellow dot sights adjustable for windage.
  • Slide catch and safety are realistic and functional.
  • Well-designed CO2 access both hides the CO2 and makes it easy to install.
  • Good combination of power, accuracy and CO2 efficiency (I got 80+ shots)!
  • Even though there is a lot of plastic on the outside, there is a lot of metal on the inside giving this airgun some weight and heft.

  • The plastic exterior may put off some customers looking for metal guns.
  • The trigger is a might bit heavy making rapid fire something you have to work for!
  • The small .177 caliber viewable barrel port is a bit of a giveaway in terms of realism but may help a bit with fps.

Comments: The Umarex Walther PPQ Pellet and BB CO2 air pistol took me a bit by surprise. Because the PPQ resides in the lower end price range, I was not expecting it to be as nice of an airgun as it turned out to be! The PPQ has a lot going for it: It shoots both pellets and/or BBs, a rifled barrel, adjustable sights, good accuracy, decent power, efficient CO2 usage and good looks. These qualities make it very easy to overlook the mostly plastic exterior!

pssst!! kept secret right here...

Hi Folks, I bought two of these recently; I had already had one which is still working and is just excellent. I bought two more as, I use this as strictly a pellet shooter - no BB's. I bought two due to the upcoming 'times'...that are a changing. These pistols are the best kept secret in the airgunner world as far as I am concerned. Great grip! Sights are always accurate. easy to install CO2 (just make sure to put a drop or two of pell-gun oil on each new CO2 when installing). The performance is splendid!! Always accurate. Got racoons coming through the back yard; 'tagged' them in the rear flank with these at 38 feet (i went and measured afterwards). Problem solved. Love how great the construction is, clean, easy to use. Fits my Raven leg holsters perfectly (for me anyway). The fine folks at Replica Airguns did a great job making sure I got them quickly and well packaged. As for these: Umarex PPQ/M&P 45 8rd BB Magazine (3 Pack), I ordered them as well. The metal magazines were not available :( I run my pellets through these and they work very well. I use the hollow points, 7.4 grain, and they fly accurate and true. Always a great hit at whatever I am shooting. Again, the fine folks at Replica Airguns have always done a fantastic job of making purchasing and communicating easy. Great bunch of folks! (No, I don't know any of them personally and I am not connected to them in anyway other than being a customer). Best pricing on the web here in Canada too! As for the PPQ's, buy them! You will like the feel, and how well they work. Not as heavy as the H&K VP9, not as light as the Walther PPS. Just a nice middle ground. I really love these pistols!! Best kept secret in the air-gunner world. :)

PPQ was a great choice for me.

Absolutely love this gun. Great fit and feel. Very well repaid for the adjustment I needed for the full trigger pull. Great accuracy and above all, an excellent value for the price. PPQ markings on my purchase.

Walther PPQ co2 pistol

This is a great gun, I really like using it and other than the inner barrel revealing that it is a pellet gun it looks just like the real PPQ. mine actually came with PPQ written on it instead of P99 Q. The only reason the accuracy was low for me was because pulling the trigger was heavy and the stress of pulling it the first few times made it go off balance a little.

Great gun for the price

Cannot go wrong at this price. Once you find the right pellets (mine works great with RWS Diablo Basic) it is pretty accurate, I can easily get a 1.5 inch group of 8 shots at 10 meters. Non blowback so easy on the CO2. Weight is great and the CO2 loading system is pretty bulletproof. I would definitely recommend.

a little disappointing

Was excited about the PM. ..Then I tried it and was not impressed at all...very poor accuracy, even for plinking I wouldn't use it...but it's is well made feels GREAT in the hand but not as a user...trigger is long hard and sluggish...
