Type:BB Pistol Manufacturer: Umarex Model: Luger P-08 Blowback Materials: Full Metal Weight: 834 g (1.84 lb) Barrel: 4 Inches, Smoothbore Power Source: O2 Action: Semi-Automatic Ammo Type: 4.5mm Steel BBs Ammo Capacity: 21 Rounds FPS: 350
Note: The following description pertains to the KWC non-licenced version of the Legends P-08.
Trigger Pull: The Single Action Only trigger pull on the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is really nice, it has a super short take-up with a very smooth light release. There really is no reset since the entire action is so short so quick follow shots are fast and predictable. Of course since this is a single action only trigger with no external hammer, you will need to pull the toggle back to chamber a BB and pre-cock the hammer for the first shot, the Blowback action will do this automatically for you on follow-up shots until the magazine is empty and the toggle locks back.
Accuracy: I did find the KWC P-08 Luger shot a bit high for me (about 3 inches at 30 feet out) and since the sights are nonadjustable, I would have to hold low on the target to make up for this but the KWC P-08 did shot well centered horizontally. Over all the 10 shot grouping at 30 feet out was very good with the bulk of the shots staying within a 1 inch pattern and three shot coming outside stretching it out to about 2.5 inches.
Build Quality: The KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is well built being that it is pretty much entirely metal. It weighs in at a beefy 1.84 pounds which is very close to the 1.92 pounds of the genuine real steel Luger. The only plastic to speak of would be in the grips and also the gas tube. As is with pretty much all KWC guns, they are powder coated so the finish looks great but can wear off in areas that protrude and or see metal on metal friction.
Realism: The KWC P-08 Luger is a really accurate replica of the actual Luger P-08 with as far as I can tell all the same working parts and ability to field strip like the real steel version. I did find the finish to be perhaps a bit dark, I would have liked to have seen a more grey or bluish tint to it to get the KWC Luger P-08 more in line with the blued finish found on the real version.
Nice heavy blowback toggle that locks back on last shot
Lots of metal and good overall weight, similar to real steel version
Decent fps and accuracy.
Very good replicas of a real Luger P-08 with all working parts
Really nice short and light single action trigger
Comes in 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Plastic Airsoft versions
Paint wears off in high spots noticeably, seems to be typical with all KWC guns
Non-adjustable sights that seemed to shoot a bit high
Black paint may be a bit too dark, more grey or blue tone would have made it more realistic
Comments: Another great classic ultra-realistic pistol from KWC! It's really nice to see more and more of these classic pistols showing up and from multiple manufacturers. I liked the Umarex version which was all metal and a good overall Luger replica, KWC took it to the next level by adding blowback and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and BB's and by giving us the option of buying the KWC Luger P-08 in either 4.5mm Steel BB or 6mm Plastic Airsoft versions. If you're a Luger fan looking for ultra-realism, this is the one to go with!
Nice replica, right weight, authentic look, handle could be brown, works fine. But eats CO2 very fast! I can go thru one clip and it's out by half of the second one, pretty disappointing! Anyhow, it's worth the money!

Beautiful but it's what's inside that wasn't there
Let me first just say it now works, but the fact that I have to disassemble the unit just to get the mag release to properly catch is insane. It started with my first shot, first the mag was locked in and I had to put a decent amount of force to get it out, but it when I shot the toggle, it locked back and co2 liquid spurted on me and my friend. Oh and the mag flew out so after the disassembly tightening a few screws it now works properly and might I just say it is amazing. I love it almost as much as my m712 I would recommend it with caution, if your a gun nut and understand very basic engineering.

This gun is so authentic its hard to believe. I have only a few comments otherwise. Again, grips could be made of thicker plastic and brown, and the metal parts a blue finish or maybe black chrome like the Walther P38. Would have liked to see some more original markings. Well worth the money just the same. Haven't shot it yet though-you must enter a value for accuracy in the reviews so I just entered a 5.

pretty remarkable replica
. . .such an iconic pistol. I could hardly wait to order the Luger p08 blowback. When you realize just how complex the internal operations of this gun are; when you consider the fact that Umarex has gone to such a great deal of trouble to replicate every one of those functions; you cannot help but be impressed with this pistol. I have since added post market wood grips (lots of work with a Dremel to make that little project fly -but well worth it) and refinished with cold blue. Very few disappointments here. I have noticed however, that if I over-lube (which I am inclined to do) the pistol will fire in full auto - which as many of you will attest to; is not as much fun as it sounds - but particularly when you are not expecting it. I would have LOVED to have seen the option of brown wood grips offered - more in keeping with the original pistol, a fully enclosed magazine ( I realize that this would have meant widening the grips somewhat) and perhaps a blued finish option - picky, picky - I know. This is a pretty awesome replica none-the-less . . . I just know that I am not the only grown-up that refuses to 'grow up', and can afford - and would be more than willing to pay - for the extras. I feel that I got that with the Dan Wesson 715 and the Webley service revolver- lets see them do the same for the Colt Python and the Luger.
Basically in this YouTube video, I shoot the 4.5mm Steel BB version of the KWC P-08 Luger head to head against the Airsoft Version to see how they compare in terms of Feet Per Second speed and Accuracy from30 feet away from a paper target using a semi rested shooting stance. As expected the heavier 4.5mm Steel BB's shot a bit slower but did seem to have a slight advantage in the accuracy department.
- 6mm Plastic Airsoft BB's - 15 Round Full Size Drop Out Metal Magazine - 366+ FPS - Full Blowback Operation - 4 inches, metal non-rifled barrel - 1.84 Pounds (834 grams) - Pretty much all Metal. - Will be available at: www.ReplicaAirguns.ca
Great news, we just received our shipment of KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback Pistols and yes we have them in both 4.5mm Steel BB and 6mm Plastic Airsoft so this news should make everyone very happy!
This shipment is only for our Canada Replica Airguns Store at this time but we hope to have them in the US Replica Airguns Store shortly when we add the KWC line.
The KWC Mauser is still a bit of a ways off since it was still a sample product when I tested it.
So make sure to pick yours up ASAP before we sell out of them as we have limited supplies and if you haven't already watched my Table Top Video and Field Test Video for the KWC P-08 Luger then make sure to do so.
