Type:Blank Pistol Manufacturer:ROHM Model: RG-88 Materials: Full Metal Weight: 590 g (1.3 lb) Barrel: Front Firing, Semi-Plugged Propulsion: Gun Powder Trigger Action: Single and Double Ammo Type: 9mm P.A.K. Ammo Capacity: 7 Rounds
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the RG-88 in single action is very light with a noticeable and predictable release point. It has a medium to heavy, yet smooth double action trigger.
Build Quality: The overall build quality for the ROHM RG-88 is excellent. Being German made, it's built to last and the fit and finish is very good. There are steel parts where they need to be like in the barrel, pins, screws and reinforcing parts. The rest of the gun is generally made out of a zinc metal with only the grips being plastic.
Realism: The ROHM RG-88 is not an exact replica of any given guns in production as this would make importing them into Canada even more difficult, but it does seem to be based around a Walther PPK design. As for looking like and working like a real gun, it does this very well, with the exception of the dangerous bullet coming out of the barrel!
German made quality, materials fit and finish is all excellent
Almost all metal with some reinforced steel parts
Nice light single action trigger with double action ability when needed
Front firing with semi plugged barrel
Come with flare adaptor and cleaning rods
Seem to be one of the only blank guns we can get here in Canada right now
Not actual exact replica of any specific guns in production
Expensive due to them being harder to get and in high demand in Canada
Comments: As with pretty much all blank guns, the RG-88 is mostly for show so it all comes down to how does it look and does it go bang when it's supposed to! In both cases it gets top marks. It feels solid and the mechanical parts are tight and smooth, giving a confident feeling when in hand. If you're looking for a well-made and dependable blank pistol then you really cannot go wrong with any of the ROHM blank guns.
This gun is very interesting and like a real gun. I love this gun

Solid and heavy and a lot of fun to make some noise with exactly as it looks only problem I noticed was the paint and markings rub off with use

Bought for a movie prop, probably end up my personal collection
Bought it for my school film project, but just find out I probably cannot shoot in the green screen studio, might switch to my blow back BB gun instead...which means extra time on adding muzzle flash and bullet case in post. Cool gun! Very nice quality! Hope there will be more cool blank gun available in Canada. Sorry to give a four star on money value, tried to fire once at home and will not do that again... if u got a house or back yard big enough, might be able to have more fun from it.
-Made by ROHM (RÖHM) -9mm P.A.K. / .380 Crimped -7/5 Round Capacity -Single & Double Action -Front Muzzle Firing -All Metal with plastic grips -Made in Germany
In this video review, I take a look at the ROHM RG-88 Semi Auto 9mm P.A.K. Pistol and the ROHM RG-59 .380 Crimped blank revolver made by ROHM in Germany. I talk about many of the features and benefits of these very well made compact blank shooters. I also take a few shots with each blank pistol and record the video results using both HD and slow motion cameras.
As with pretty much all blank guns, they are mostly for show so it all comes down to how do they look and do they go bang when they are supposed to! In both cases they get top marks. Both the RG-88 semi auto and RG-59 revolver feel solid and the mechanical parts are tight and smooth giving a confident feeling when holding them. I like the larger caliber blanks over the .22 crimped blanks as they have a bigger bang but they will set you back in the cost department a bit more as the price for 9mm P.A.K. and .380 blanks will be a lot more than .22 crimped so keep this in mind when choosing a blank gun. If you're looking for a well made and dependable blank pistol then you really can not go wrong with any of the ROHM blank guns we sell in the Canada Replica Airguns Store.
It has been a while since I picked out some of my favorite guns, after all my favorite gun picks change on a daily basis since there are so many awesome guns out there to pick from.
This YouTube video is a little different since I pick out my favorites from a bunch of mostly replica gun categories including Steel BB, Pellet, Airsoft, Revolvers and Blank Pistols.
You may notice most of my picks happen to be blowback guns but to me airguns are all about being as realistic as possible and having blowback operation to me help to simulate the realism that much more. The exception in this video is in the pellet gun category since I decided on a pellet gun that was more about function and purpose over being any type of real replica.
Hopefully you take the time to watch my entire YouTube video since I also bring out some close runner ups but here is a list of my top picks on this day, tomorrow it could be a completely different list of guns ;)
