Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex CP99 Compact is amazing; it is short and light making it one of the best action shooters I own. You can fire this gun accurately and fast all day long.

Accuracy: Good, I find the sights on the CP99 Compact set up to work really well with my shooting style. I don't have to make any adjustments and I'm able to get tight groups even when shooting fairly quickly.

Build Quality: Excellent, this BB gun is made in Japan and it shows, I have owned it for close to 5 years now and it still shoots just as good as the day I bought it. It's well made, well finished and feels great in the hand. The ejection port is cut out on the slide, but does not expose the chamber. When the slide is pulled back, the valve assembly will be visible.

Realism: This replica BB gun has many of the same characteristics of the actual 9mm P99 Compact with the exception of having a longer handle and a much different safety mechanism.

Pros:

  • Decent reproduction of the original Walther P99 Compact 9mm
  • Would make an excellent training gun as it has a similar size, weight, and feel to the actual Walther P99 Compact 9mm handgun
  • Blowback action is very firm adding to the realism of shooting this weapon
  • Decent FPS and CO2 efficiency for a blowback BB air gun
  • Amazing trigger pull making it a blast to shoot
  • Picatinny rail for accessories like a laser sight and/or tactical light

Cons:

  • Ejection port on older models is not cut out but rather molded into the slide
  • Safety lever seems out of place and takes away from the realism of this replica

Comments: This fine blowback BB gun was the airgun that got me back to being interested in Replica Airguns. I've put thousands of rounds through this BB gun and it hasn't always been treated with the greatest care, but still it has held up very well. The Umarex Walther CP99 Compact a really fun gun to shoot and is not only easy on the pocket book to purchase but also to shoot, as it easily gets 100 shots plus per CO2 cartridge.

Favourite bb gun after long-ish break in period

Hours and hours of fun with thousands of rounds through - zero problems or malfunctions, though it took a good oiling and over a thousand rounds to get the action moving smoothly. Very clever internal hammer and cocking system is well designed. Apart from significant slide wobble (which I think was intentional) the build quality is excellent, go Japan. Weight and balance were well considered and the trigger pull is pretty good though it suffers slightly on a full magazine. I'm using it so much right now I'm actually considering getting another one, incredible airgun for the price

Great bang for your buck

Received the gun even before the promised delivery date. Glad I spent a few extra dollars to get this blowback gun. I use Daisy CO2 and Daisy lead pellets. I get 4 magazines for each canister.

Fun

A fun blowback, semi auto. Surprisingly accurate for a short barrel. Not bad CO2 use. Getting 3 magazines before I have to hand cock it. Still enough to push the BB out at a good rate. Loads of plinking fun. We'll made, heavy.

Great

I bought this for my son which is 4 years old. This is actually the first time I find a gun that he can hold and operate himself. Accuracy is all over the place sadly ... expect LOTS of flyers. I got spare mags which are cheap and come in pack of two for a lot of shots without having to reload. Gun is heavy and really well made. Double security is appreciated in this particular case. I'm now convinced to buy his big brother for myself.

Review

Look and feel of real pistol. I had a rat in my backyard got it first shot at 25 feet . Very impressive operation and get more rounds out of it then my non blow back umarex glock19 and glock19 is off 2 inches at 15 feet. Only thing I don't like is the plastic cover over the co2 has a slight wiggle while gripping. And no more rats so worth the money. Satisfied Customer.

Cool

Very fun gun. Very sturdy and well built. Quality is pretty good to for the price. It's a very nice gun, and fun to shoot. Love the way it fits in my hand. Balance is amazing too.

Looks really great, especially the silver slide!

Blowback seems too weak after a couple magazines, end up pulling the slide back every shot. But other than that it’s accurate and looks great! Really pleased with the silver slide.

Can't Miss (in more ways than one)

I have to admit: I'm biased as this is the second of these I've bought from Replica Airguns Canada. My first one has the laser-sight. Excellent weight, feel, realism. I don't mind the novel safety at all--I kinda like it, actually. Very impressive build quality and durability. Has surprising heft, given the pistol's small size. Simple to operate. But what really shocked me was how accurate this pistol is, especially when you consider how short its barrel is. Right from the get-go, I was grinning: it was like I couldn't miss (and I'm by no means super-talented or anything). Give it a go.
