Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Umarex CP99 Compact is amazing; it is short and light making it one of the best action shooters I own. You can fire this gun accurately and fast all day long.

Accuracy: Good, I find the sights on the CP99 Compact set up to work really well with my shooting style. I don't have to make any adjustments and I'm able to get tight groups even when shooting fairly quickly.

Build Quality: Excellent, this BB gun is made in Japan and it shows, I have owned it for close to 5 years now and it still shoots just as good as the day I bought it. It's well made, well finished and feels great in the hand.

Realism: This Replica BB gun has many of the same characteristics of the actual 9mm P99 Compact with the exception of having a longer handle and much different safety mechanism. My particular version did not have a cut out ejection port either but I believe the newer models do have cut out ejection ports adding to the realism of this replica CP99 Compact BB gun.

  • Decent reproduction of the original Walther P99 Compact 9mm.
  • Would make an excellent training gun as it has a similar size, weight, and feel to the actual Walther P99 Compact 9mm handgun.
  • Blowback action is very firm adding to the realism of shooting this weapon.
  • Decent FPS and CO2 efficiency for a blowback BB air gun.
  • Amazing trigger pull making it a blast to shoot.
  • Picatinny rail for accessories like a laser sight and/or tactical light.

  • Ejection port on older models is not cut out but rather molded into the slide.
  • Safety lever seems out of place and takes away from the realism of this replica.

Comments: This fine Blowback BB gun was the airgun that got me back to being interested in Replica Airguns. I've put thousands of rounds through this BB gun and it hasn't always been treated with the greatest care, but still it has held up very well. The Umarex Walther CP99 Compact a really fun gun to shoot and is not only easy on the pocket book to purchase but also to shoot, as it easily gets 100 shots plus per CO2 cartridge.

Starter hand gun, good value

Well built, good value, accuracy affected greatly by shooting speed(free standing)Shoots at least 5 magzines before CO2 change, very nice!Grip is very comfortable! Size is very good for "compact"CO2 tube screw is inside handle is sometimes too tight to unscrew by hand.Drops a BB whenever you pull the trigger (I'm very angry about this!) , whether cocked or not! Safety does not latch the trigger. Seriously, very angry!!!

Great value! Great Quality! Great Gun!

Sturdy gun with a metal slide and polymer frame. Little slide wiggle and an operational slide catch. Other than the pistol-grip's unauthentic look and design there isn't a thing wrong with this gun. Great bang for your buck!

CP99 Compact

This gun is a great plinker, it is made of very good material, plastic for the body with an almost invisible seem under the trigger guard. Metal slide offer a good weight/kick for the blow back witch cock the hammer and lock's back after the last shot. The grip is perfect for my hand's, just like on my 9XP. CO2 installation/piercing is great, no tool's required, the door could be of a better system. Sight's as no white dot, took care of that, now I have white dot's. Safety is strange to use but ounce you got the hang of it, it's very nice, Cocking the slide only arm the hammer but does not chamber a BB, like most KWC. I love the decocking of the hammer when put on safe. Put the lever on fire and cock the slide/hammer, it's ready to shoot. it work's like a DA trigger except it' way smoother and lighter, first part of trigger travel will load a BB in the barrel then very short travel after releases the hammer/shot. It does have a descent accuracy at 30', very close to full size BB gun's. Would I recommend it, oohhhh yes, it's a very realistic gun with good feeling and blowback. One thing buy spare mag you will go true a mag very fast. Got aprox. 4 mag's per CO2. Paid to much for it, should of get it from RAG... :-(

Very realistic and Great gun to use

I have owned this gun (new model) for about a year and a half or so and it is fantastic! The full blowback has a hard snappy feel that you can really feel when it kicks your hands back. This is definatly an extremely realistic gun very true to the original other than the safety, which at first was very difficult to change from on to off but after some break in time feel ok. One of my favorite parts of the gun is how it is easy to take down. It seems quite realistic other than the fact that you do have to push out a pin to start. The gun is great quality aside from a couple things. The slide has a catch on it so it can lock back when out of bbs (note that it only locks back at half length) . After some usage, not sure if from firing or just playing withi it the lever that moves up and the notch out of the slide have started to round off a bit making it not want to lock back anymore. It still works ok if you let the slide back slowly but not when shooting. I took a file and squared it again so it will lock back better by hand but still not when shooting. The other thing is the Co2 compartment. You can pull off the back of the grip to get to the Co2 but the door that comes off feels kind of cheap and im worried of breaking it especially since it just snaps in with no button. no problems with that so far though. The Co2 screw is also one of the best features on the gun. Instead of an ugly tab or having the need to use an allen/hex key it has a peice of steel on the bottom shapped to the grip that you turn to pierce the Co2. You put in the cartrige and inside you tighten it with the plate screw with your finger then the steel on the bottom pierces it. This is by far the number one most comfortable gun to hold in the hand. Its some what unique grip just melts in your hand. The gun overall has a good weight (a tiny tiny bit lighter than expected) , high quality, shoots pretty accurate with super smooth short trigger pull, and looks great even including a picitinny rail underneath for lasers or tactical flashlights. If you are considering getting this gun it would be a good choice. Very authentic. I would rate it 4.5 stars.

This video is a walkthrough Review of the CP99 Compact CO2 BB Gun. I show off the gun close up and I also take you through many of the features.

This particular CP99 Compact has been modified to have the ejection port cut out to make it more authentic.

One of the best attributes to this Airgun is just how well it shoots! It has one of the best trigger pulls of any airgun I own making it a must have and a great value at well under $100.
