SHOT Show 2026 booth interview! I stopped by SABRE and talked with Ashley about their Home Defense Pepper Launcher (Gen 2) a new version that (at the time of our interview) isn’t out yet, but it builds on the current model with some smart upgrades.
With less-lethal options becoming more popular (especially as other alternatives disappear in Canada), I wanted to get the details: what’s new, how it works, and whether we might be able to bring this platform into Canada for reviews and possibly the store.
Gen 2 highlights (from the interview):
-New Quick Pierce magazine system (pierce and you’re ready to aim)
-Fiber optic sights for faster target acquisition
-“Rifle-style” barrel design for improved accuracy
-Heavier payload projectiles (Ashley says stronger + more accurate)
-New pressure indicator (shows CO2 status as you shoot)
-CO2 release button to vent pressure and remove the magazine
Specs discussed:
-.68 caliber
-Around 350 FPS
-7 projectiles per magazine
-About 2 magazines per CO2 (14 shots)
-Effective distance mentioned around 60 ft and up to 175 ft depending on projectile type
