Customer Reviews for Sig Sauer X-Five ASP Blowback Steel BB/Pellet Gun

Brand: Sig Sauer

Type: BB Pistol / Pellet Pistol
Manufacturer: Sig Sauer
Model: X-Five ASP
Material: Full metal
Weight: 1.2 kg (2.7 lb)
Length: 221 mm (8.7 in)
Barrel: 127 mm (5 in), rifled
Power Source: 12g CO2 x 1
Action: Semi-automatic, single action only, blowback
Ammo Type: 4.5mm steel BBs / pellets
Ammo Capacity: 20 rounds
FPS: 430

Buy the magazine: SIG1058

Accuracy: It shot an average of 359 FPS, which was lower than my testing of the Sig Sauer ASP P320 which shot an average of 413 FPS. I'm not sure why there was such a difference since both guns use similar internal mechanics but I have a feeling the CO2 may not have been fully pieced since some shots seemed weaker and the CO2 output didn't seem consistent. I got a tight 1.5 inch grouping with my X-Five ASP. It was shooting a bit low and to the left for me in my testing but the rear sight is fully adjustable for windage and elevation so this can be easily corrected.

Pros:

  • Full metal construction available in black or nickel finish
  • Capability to shoot both 4.5mm steel BBs and pellets
  • Full blowback action cycling
  • High capacity 20 round belt-fed magazine
  • Weaver/Picatinny rail for mounting tactical accessories
  • Rear sight adjustable for windage and elevation

Cons:

  • Blowback action drains CO2 quite quickly
  • Non-rubberized grips can be slippery in wet conditions

Comments: The Sig Sauer X-Five ASP CO2 Pellet Pistol is Sig's latest ASP (Advanced Sport Pellet) air pistol. Like the Sig Sauer ASP P320, it has a high capacity belt-fed magazine along with an easy load CO2 system. The X-Five ASP is a really well-made and fun gun to shoot. I love the high capacity belt-fed magazine which is not heavy on the trigger at all unlike some other guns. The fully adjustable rear sight is something you don't often see on CO2 blowback action shooters so hopefully this is a new trend.

Pistol

It is exactly what I wanted and am really happy I ordered an extra clip (2 in a package) . Person on order phone was very helpful and much appreciated. Order was sent out the next day and arrived a day earlier than expected . Thank you for being in business when a tool for security is becoming more of a necessity than ever in this time of turmoil and gun banning politicians .

Feels like the real deal, but eats ups C02 FAST!

First off let me say its a great gun! Nice heavy weight, feels like a real serious firearm when you hold it. Someone on this website review said the grips were cheap plastic, in my opinion they are high quality polymer that feel great in the hand, not cheap at all just like the real ones on the Sig Firearm version. A little long on the trigger pull but that's to be expected as it also moves the ammo belt in the mag to the next round to fire. The two big things you should know, in the more budget pellet ammo, this gun did better with the Daisy Flat nosed pellets. The Crosman Wad cutters would jam up towards the end of the C02 ..but so much with the Daisy's Just like in the REPLICA AIR GUN review video, this gun also shot low and to the left out of the box, but good thing is that the rear sights are adjustable for windage and height. So now it shoots nice and straight after some adjustments. The only con, is that I could only get about 55 "Good-decent" shots per C02 because the "HEAVY" metal slide requires allot of C02 gas to slide it back and cock the hammer, .. as you loss C02, the slide will no longer cock the hammer so you will have to use your thumb to cock it for the last few shots...but then again you will risk a jam in the barrel. This happened to me twice, so make sure you have a ram rod to push the lodged pellet back down the barrel and back into the ammo belt in the mag, if you do not, you will not be able to eject the mag and if you try and force out the mag, you will damage your gun. As long as you have a ram rod, you'll be fine. All that said this is a "Monster" of a tactical type firearm and I do love it allot. This is my 2nd Sig gun, and my 6th gun purchase from Replica Air Guns, and so far I am pleased with all my purchases. As long as you follow the manufactures instruction, and use common sense, you should have no issues and get hours of fun target shooting or plinking.

Jamming

Did some research before buying, found that the flat pellets are supposed to work better with less jamming but have had issue several times. Then unable to remove clip have to bang on bottom until it releases.

Great co2 pistol !!!!

I’m truly a beginner at this but overall great pistol to shoot with , feels like a real one good weight , blowback is awesome (although would be nice to have it go further back) the blowback takes a lot from the co2 but it compensates with accuracy. 20 shots per mag !!! Most air guns have a maximum of 8 to 16 pellets , wel this one doesn’t cut short , 20!!! I have the silver one , nice looking!! But would have preferred the black one . Guys at replicaaurguns.ca are just awesome and very helpful, definitely getting more “toys” from this site

Decent gun, but needs work.

I ordered mine in nickel. I wish now that I ordered a black copy. The "nickel" finish doesn't look authentic and even looks a little cheap. The grips have a cheap plasticky feeling too. Some rubberized aftermarket grips would help a lot. It's fairly heavy, so recoil from the slide is dampened nicely. It's a pretty straight shooter too. I wouldn't call it a tack driver, but it's certainly accurate enough to be respectable. I can get around 50 Shots out of a CO2 cartridge before the slide fails to cock the hammer. Much more than that and the accuracy really suffers and you run the risk of getting a pellet stuck in the barrel. The most disappointing (and shocking) issue I found with it was the construction of the magazine. The problem didn't rear its head until halfway through the second magazine I shot through it. After reloading the magazine 6 times, I'd experienced 12 jams. The issue is the ridiculously undersized spring used at the top of the mag. It's also fussy about the pellets you use. It doesn't seem to like the cheap Crosman wadcutters at all. I've shot hundreds of problem free Meisterkugeln Pro Line wadcutters through it. Unfortunately they're nearly twice the price of the Crosman pellets, but you ARE getting a precision made German competition pellet. You get what you pay for. If you take out the small screws, you'll be able to pry the top of the magazine apart. Be careful. It won't completely separate without causing damage. With your free hand, simply wind out the spring. It's not much thicker than a human hair. I replaced it with a pen spring of similar length. I shot an additional 8 mags of ammo through it and not a single jam. This seems to be a solid fix for this well known issue. It's a bit shocking that Sig would let something like this go out with their name on it. I'm much happier with the gun now.

Loving it, but extra mags are MIS-LABELLED

I just received my Sig X-Five pellet pistol less than 2 days after ordering it (Awesome quickness!!!) and after shooting almost 20 mags in one day I absolutely love it. My only reservations are that the slide is a little bit wiggly on the barrel (manufacturer fault or maybe intended for engineering reasons I don't understand, who knows), AND that I thought I accidentally ordered extra mags for a BB version, NOT PELLET!!!, which I didn't notice until I received the shipping notice. However, I received 4 extra mags of the 20-shot rotary PELLET magazines, just like I NEEDED with the gun I ordered! Either your shipping person noticed the discrepancy and adjusted BB to PELLET, to match the gun shipped... OR...your online description of "Extra BB magazines" is wrongly worded. Please fix this.
