Type:BB pistol Manufacturer:Palco Model: BW1911 R2 Materials: Full metal Weight: 930 g (2 pounds) Barrel: smoothbore Power Source: 12g CO2 x1 Action: Single action Ammo Type: 4.5mm steel BBs Ammo Capacity: 18 rounds FPS: 312
Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Palco Blackwater 1911 R2 BB Pistol is exactly what you would expect from a true single action 1911 styled pistol. It has a short take up and then a nice light and crisp pull to it. Because of the similar mechanics not only to the trigger but other aspects of this gun, it would make an awesome low-cost trainer to be used when your real 1911 can not be.
Accuracy: I shot the Palco Blackwater 1911 R2 gun at a target from 20 feet away in a semi-rested position, and it performed well getting a 2 inch grouping just a bit off center of the target. The sights are adjustable for windage so zeroing the Palco Blackwater 1911 R2 BB pistol in would not be much of a problem! My initial Chrony testing puts this gun right in the 300-320 FPS range which is just fine for this style of heavy full realistic blowback action BB shooter. I also managed to get three very good magazines' worth of shots with some extra CO2 left for a potential 4th magazine. If you slow your shooting down and let the gun and CO2 warm up between magazines you can get 4 magazines with this gun for sure.
Build Quality: Palco did a great job with the BW1911 R2. The quality and build characteristics may even be just a bit better than my other Palco/Cybergun blowback air pistols. Everything that should be metal is the same on this as the original. The slide and barrel wiggle are minimal and the finish seems to be wearing fairly well on this Palco airgun. I do expect over time for some of the finish to wear off on the high points but this can also give the gun some character.
Realism: The Palco BW1911 R2 BB airgun is as close as you can get to the real steel version but with an obvious more modern tactical look to it. The tactical version has the addition of a Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, rail for accessories. This gun is nearly all metal with very heavy blowback making it feel real to hold in the hand and shoot.
All metal construction - good weight and solid feeling gun
Nice heavy blowback action
Very accurate 1911 R2 styled replica in many ways
True 1911 single action trigger, excellent pull, very smooth and light
Accurate trigger design and working grip safety
Decent accuracy, not too bad amount of shots for this style of gun
All metal full size dropout magazine
Love the upgraded tactical features (Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, rail for accessories)
Sacrifice FPS and shots per CO2 because of the heavy blowback but worth it
Finish on the Cybergun and Palco guns can wear off on the high points a bit but some people like this look
Comments: I love my Cybergun BW1911 R2 as do many of you based on the amount of sales we have had on this unit! After all, who does not appreciate such an accurate replica? The only problem with the classic 1911 is that it is missing a few of today's more modern features and that's what is so nice abut the new Palco Blackwater 1911 R2 BB Pistol. It takes an already great design and makes it even better by adding the Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, and rail for add on accessories. So if you're a 1911 fan looking for as close as you can get to the real steel in a more modern version than look no further, this is it!
First time shooting this great blackwater 1911 blowback, with umarex co2 and crosman pellgunoil.
Gun looks great, feels heavy, and shoots amazing with strong blowback.
After 30 shots, the mag start leaking co2. Put a new co2 in with pellgunoil, all co2 blow out from top valve right away. Tried 2 more co2, same result.
Update (feb 16, 2017)
Received replacement co2 mag, appied pellgunoil on top co2 valve and the tip of co2 using crosman co2. shot 120 bbs with 2 co2, no leak and everything is perfect again.
In concludion, the co2 mag needs pellgunoil on top co2 valve and tip of co2 to prevent damage. Crosman co2 fits better on KWC/CYBERGUN/KJ WORKS/CROSMAN airguns. Umarex co2 will leak in this gun.
Learned from youtube that its good to use silicon grease (i use aim top from replicaairgun) to lube the slide and moving parts. Pellgunoil for the seals, silicon grease and silicon lube for moving parts are must buy with the blowback airguns. Also get some teflon tape to fix minor leak that you will encounter sooner or later.
Final note. KWC/CYBERGUN/KJ WORKS/CROSMAN guns fits well with crosman co2 (umarex co2 WILL leak in guns above). UMAREX guns fits both crosman and umarex co2. Concludion, crosman co2 appears to be the best co2.

Sexiest gun I've ever held
Just recently got this gun so I can't comment on it's long lasting capabilities but I can say that it is ALL metal except for the handle guard and the hand safety, (different from the safety selector which is metal). Pulling back the slide is the most satisfying part I enjoy about the gun and the realistic weight and feel. Because of the heavy slide, it requires more CO2 per shot but well worth it if you enjoy realistic blowback. Doesn't have the best range as many other guns but is still above average nonetheless. It came with a chromed barrel for those wondering because a saw a few pictures that did not have a chromed barrel. One of my favorites so far. Would highly recommend, well worth the price and especially if its on sale.

I have not done a Table Top Review for the Blackwater BW1911 R2 Blowback BB Pistol but I have done a full Table Top and Field Test review for the KWC M1911 Model 1911 Tac A1 which is essentially the exact same gun as the Blackwater BW1911 R2 but without the silver highlights and Blackwater licensing.
I did want to take the Blackwater BW1911 R2 back a bit further than usual and shoot it from 30 feet out to see what kind of results I would get and got pretty close to a two inch group that was well centered but just a bit under the bulls eye. This is not going to be the hottest gun in terms of fps as my Chronograph confirmed for us coming in at just a bit over 300 fps. I can see this BB pistol hitting the claimed 320 fps and even faster on a hotter test day.

This video is a walkthrough review of the KWC M1911 Model A1 TAC CO2 Blowback BB Pistol. I show off the gun close up from all angles and point out the metal components and the incredible realism this airgun offers. I also show you (in first person perspective) my initial Field Test results shooting this gun through my Chronograph and at a target from 20 feet out.
I love my Cybergun Tanfoglio Witness 1911 as do many of you based on the amount of sales we have had on that unit! After all who does not appreciate such an accurate replica of the Classic Colt 1911 A1 45 auto? The only problem with the classic 1911 is that it is missing a few of todays more modern features and that's what is so nice abut the new KWC M1911 A1 Tac BB Pistol, it takes an all ready great design and makes it even better by adding the Tac style trigger and hammer, textured grips, ambidextrous safety, adjustable white dot sights and rail for add on accessories. So if you're a 1911 fan looking for as close as you can get to the real steel in a more modern version than look no further, this is it!
