Barrel: 4.25 inches, metal non-rifled

Trigger Characteristics: The Umarex Baby Desert Eagle operates with a double-action-only trigger mechanism. The trigger is notably lengthy, featuring a moderately to significantly heavy pull, and an extensive and unpredictable point of release. Gaining proficiency in accurate and controlled shooting with this pistol will require some practice, but it is attainable. This airgun is ideally suited for casual shooting activities like hitting cans for amusement. A detailed Field Test Shooting Review is forthcoming.

Construction Quality: The Magnum Research Baby Desert Eagle primarily consists of plastic, supplemented by some metal parts internally. Functionally, the only external parts are the trigger and the cross-bolt safety. Other components such as the slide catch, hammer, slide-mounted safety, and take-down lever are integrated into the gun's plastic body and are not operational. The magazine is built-in, so there's no separate release required. The simplified design of the Baby Desert Eagle means there's minimal risk of breakage or mechanical failure.

Replica Fidelity: This airgun bears a strong resemblance, in appearance only, to the actual Magnum Research Desert Eagle, complete with official trademarks. It's important to note that this is the more compact 'Baby' version, which is significantly smaller and lighter than the pellet-shooting, full-size Magnum Research Desert Eagle. This size reduction may be advantageous for users with smaller hands. In terms of aesthetics, the Umarex Baby Desert Eagle is a convincing representation of a Desert Eagle, aside from its unusual slide trigger.

  • Priced affordably at around $50.
  • More suitable for individuals with smaller hands compared to the full-size Desert Eagle.
  • Equipped with top and bottom picatinny rails for mounting various accessories.
  • Officially licensed by Magnum Research.
  • Balanced in terms of power, accuracy, and CO2 efficiency.

  • Predominantly constructed from plastic.
  • Limited to only a few operational parts: the trigger and cross bolt safety.
  • The trigger has a lengthy pull and unpredictable release.
  • Installing the top picatinny rail renders the built-in iron sights unusable.
  • Visible screw holes on the pistol's left side.
  • Lacks any type of detachable magazine.

While I don't often get excited about lower-end, simplistic plastic BB pistols, they do have their place in the market. They tend to be reliable due to their fewer mechanical components and simpler design. In terms of functionality, they perform comparably in targeting and shooting, offering a more budget-friendly option. The Umarex Baby Desert Eagle, despite being a downsized version of the larger Desert Eagle, is a respectable replica. For those who have longed for the larger model with its significant size and higher cost, the Baby Desert Eagle provides a more accessible alternative, fulfilling the same desire in a more compact and affordable form.

Great for smaller guys and girls and still packs quite a punch.

My gf fell in love with this gun. For some reason, it really suits her and she's way more accurate with it than I am. Though small, this gun packs a hell of a punch for something so cheap- it hit the cardboard target and then the BB traveled on through the wall behind it lol. Make sure if you're using this indoor to have well shielded wall or a thick target! The CO2 to shot rate is very nice- I think for each can of CO2 we got 100 to 150 shots out of it- until the seal failed that is...but that's a different story.Originally I thought the seal felling after three cans of co2 was a problem with the cheap gun, but then I saw Michael's video on repairing seals and why do they fail and realized that it was mostly our own doing... You see, the CO2 lasts for so many shots in this gun me and the gf we were firing off 30/40 shots, then would leave the gun for next shooting- maybe 2, 3 days later... Apparently doing so the co2 cylinder will warp the seal in the gun. I am going to attempt Michael's suggested seal patch tomorrow and hope the gf won't slay me if it fails to work and she loses her favorite gun!

Great BB intro Gun package

If you are looking for an inexpensive versatile weapon that his CO2 efficient and shoots great for a bargain price, this is your best choice ! With this current package, you have everything you need to start shooting immediately. Down the road, you can add a Scope and laser (the only gun in this price range that offers both railings). CO2 loading is quick and efficient although the screw is very obvious and not so good looking. Loading BBs is not as easy as it'll see. Safety button looks like it won't be tight for very long. **Don't install top railing unless you plan on installing a scope; you will loose your sight. Trigger is the biggest con. Overall, well worth the money !

Powerfull all plastic cheap BB gun

Certainly not for collectors. This gun has nothing real, the look, the weight, the material, the feel... Nothing! For the asked price, you get a powerful all plastic airgun. And you can shoot with it.
