Trigger Pull: The double action only type trigger pull on the ASG TAC-4.5 CO2 Air Rifle is not too heavy, but it is rather long, so really quick rapped fire shooting will require some finger work. The trigger reset is right at the begging of the pull so you need to make sure you allow the trigger a full range of motion or you may miss the odd shot.

Build Quality: The rifle is mostly plastic but feels pretty good in the hand with decent fit and finish. There are some metal internal part along with the outer barrel, but for the most part the ASG-TAC 4.5 is all plastic, including the trigger and front and rear sights.

Realism: The ASG TAC-4.5 is not a replica of any modern rifle that I know of, but it does look a bit like a Beretta CX4 Storm, especially the back half of it. The flash hider and top and bottom rails add to the realism.

Pros:

  • Very customizable with rails top and bottom
  • Comes with a rather nice bi-pod
  • Front and back Iron sights are very usable
  • Safety switch is in a great location for right handed shooters
  • Integrated laser add on is a nice touch
  • Solid construction
  • Rubber butt pad is nice and thick
  • Removable barrel to reduce size for easier transportation
  • Also come in airsoft version

Cons:

  • DOA Trigger pull is a bit long which will slow down rapid fire shooting a bit
  • Mostly polymer build
  • Why not a longer inner barrel for possible more FPS?

Comments: It's nice when a new action shooting air rifle comes out on the market since there are not a ton of them. The ASG TAC-4.5 is a nice addition if you're looking for a BB shooter for plinking around the yard. You can also get an airsoft version called the ASG TAC-6 if you want to shoot some rounds that are a little bit less destructive and more game friendly. The ASG TAC-4.5 offers a lot of customizability with its top and bottom rails for accessories, which allow for the placement of the included removable iron sights and bi-pod. I would recommend adding a red dot sight and perhaps even a tac light to really dec out this modern looking air rifle.

Quiet plinker

it İs mostly polymer but high quality and decrases the sıhhat remarkably. As a result of this you can very easily shoot on standing position tirelessly. Trigger Kong but very smooth, better than most of CO2 double action pistols, maybe the best one. You can performam quick shots effortlessy. it is very quiet. i think, because inner barrel wrapped bu a long iutet barrel and the muzzle(compensator, flash gider) is longer than seven in pictures. it approximately 30cm long and intertwined with outer barrel. namely there are two layers wrapping the inner barrel. Contrary to seller's test, velocity is lower as many user say. And this is the second reason of low desibel sound. Accuacy on stock model average since front sight is wide. Secondly, shot (and i think velocity deviation) consistency is not so good. (this happens with asg sti duty one too). You can adjust evalution an windage but shots still spread. Personally, Rear sight's evalution adjustment is not that good. That's why, i bought 4-5$ both ar15 and M16 model fully adjustable polymer sight sets. They have helped me for more precise aiming and a bit more precise zeroing adjustment. Since the rifle has long rail, i bought them. this customizeable feature is very useful. You shouldnt expect a break barrel, piston or pcp air gun accuracy and consistency. it is for plinking and and fun to shoot.

Excellent tactical style semi auto BB rifle

I have had this for about a week and just today got it sighted in. The build quality is excellent, what I would expect from Taiwan, and the fit and finish is flawless. Magazines are almost all metal and feel very well built. I've handled 9mm pistol magazines that didn't have as solid a feel as this one. I love the load and shoot feature, or not needing to cock the gun after adding a new magazine. Once the CO2 is charged in place, its load a mag and go as fast as you can pull the trigger. Using stock sights and just resting on a railing I have it sighted in to be within a half inch from the target, and I think I will be able to get it dead on once I take a few more shots and get a better feel for the gun. I have one recommendation for better usability. The manual states add a couple of drops of silicone oil to the top BB in the clip, but I have found that the magazine dries out after 7-8 shots and can cause a misfire, which means removing the clip and letting a BB fall out. However, if after loading the magazine, you add a few drops along the line of BB's in the magazine and add a couple of drops to the top BB, it shoots all the way through the magazine with no failure to feed issues. I highly recommend this rifle as a great, lightweight plinker or even a decent target rifle with the open sights. But buy a couple of extra magazines, you will want them. It doesn't need a scope unless you don't like open sights or really want to use it for target shooting, but its not a target rifle, its a fun gun! The service from replicafirearms.ca is excellent and I have bought from them 3 times in less than 2 months, so I highly recommend them over other dealers I have dealt with in Canada.

Great Rifle for Sniper Target Practice

The TAC 4 BB is a really great rifle for target practice especially if you're working on your stability and breathing practices in making a great shot. The fact that it holds over twenty allows you to take time setting up each shot. Although it fires at a pretty fast speed, I noticed it that did slow down a little after about 50-60 rounds. Best to practice with a shooters table or bench (or your favorite snipping position) as you can then incorporate the retractable bi-pods (these are a really nice feature). I've also used one of the bi-pods like a tactical vertical grip which works quite well as well. I use the fibre optic sights from time to time (to keep it old-school) them to provde a really crisp sightline. This is the closest replica that I could get in a BB rifle that is simular to a couple of my scar rifles. Nice job ASG, another great product!
