Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle is single action only since the charging handle must be cocked first before you can shoot it. The trigger has a little bit of take up with some creep then a nice light release. The real fun happens with the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle when you switch it over to full auto mode and empty the entire 28 round magazine at 1400 rounds per minute which only takes about a second.

Build Quality: The Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle is well made all around. Weighing in at 8 pounds without any add on accessories it feels solid and well built. There is a lot of metal going on inside and outside on this rifle but keep in mind the external receiver is plastic with metal parts where they need to be like in the internals, pretty much all the working parts are metal, the charging handle and bolt, the barrel, the swing out buffer tub, the trigger, trigger guard, magazine release and selector lever are all metal along with the rear sight.

Realism: The Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle for sure looks the part of an AK but in a more modernized version with its fold out AR compatible adjustable rear stock and quad rail setup. Even the pistol grip can be swapped out for an AK type pistol grip. Most of the mechanical parts work as expected as in the selector lever, charging handle, magazine release and even the rear adjustable and removable sight. the only slight letdown is perhaps not being able to easily field strip the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle similar to the real steel version so no the top dust cover does not pop off allowing access to the internals.

Pros:

  • Super realistic working AK 4.5mm BB rifle, pretty much the only blowback BB AK Rifle on the market.
  • Full blowback operation with both semi and full auto shooting can feel the blowback operation rocking the gun.
  • Great weight and feel to it at 8 pounds.
  • Almost everything works exactly like the real steel version. (Charging handle, magazine release, selector switch).
  • Duel CO2 metal and plastic drop out magazine that holds the 28 4.5mm steel BB’s as well.
  • AR Compatible 5 position adjustable fold-out buttstock.
  • AK compatible pistol grips.
  • The rear sight is removable and adjustable for elevation on the fly.
  • Lots of rails for mounting additional cool hardware.
  • Removable generic reverse thread flash hider.

Cons:

  • The receiver is plastic but well made and does not compromise feel or weight since there is lots of metal throughout this gun.
  • Not field strippable.
  • Flash hider is not my style but can be swapped out easily.

Comments: The Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle is essentially an AK version fo the Crosman AR Series of Full Auto CO2 powered BB Rifles which is a wonderful thing since there really are not many AK type BB Rifles out there. Even in Airsoft it seems most rifles are based on the AR platform so this is very refreshing. Crosman has had a few years now to perfect the internal operation of their Full Auto BB Rifle lineup so I expect the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle to preform just as well as the other AR versions. Other then not being able to field strip the Crosman AK1 CO2 Blowback Full Auto BB Rifle I am extremely pleased with it so far without yet Field Testing it. Keep them coming Crosman!

Awesome gun but be careful loading

Love this gun. Very solid rifle great shooter. One issue I had was using the speed loader. I used the loader unaware the follower had slipped This caused bbs to lodge in the spring. In my attempts to fix this I ruined the spring. When I dismantled the mag I couldn't restore the spring. I still recommend this gun but be careful with the loader.I have a new mag ordered and looking forward to plinking in the spring.

Neat toy

I'd highly recommend getting this BUT you're going to be forced on adding the accessories to it. It's well built but boring from the factory. You'll find tons of cool things from overseas at a cheap rate. Not sure if this is okay for kids unsupervised but I'm sure this thing could be a blast for the whole family. The plastic BB's work like a charm if you want to turn this into an airsoft gun.

One of a kind

I enjoy that someone finally came out with an AK variant in 4.5mm steel BB. I have only had limited use with this rifle because of the current state of the world but have noticed that you need some space to realize any accuracy because the height of the front sight over the bore. I have only shot this rifle at about 10 feet in the house which is way too close to determine accuracy because of the afforementioned design of the gun. Until I can get some distance between the gun and the target I can't really comment on the accuracy but other than that it seems to work well. I used Hornady "Black Diamond" BB's and had no issues with feeding or jamming. I own almost every Full Auto rifle/ gun in the 4.5mm steel calibre and this gun seems to be just as reliable and fun as rifles that are very similar. eg: Crosman DPMS SBR, Crosman R1, Umarex Legends MP40, Umarex and Swiss Arms Uzis. The gun is a little on the heavy side but this adds to the realism of the unit. I bought both recommended sights for this rifle but due to the need for some distance have not committed to to either one because I can't sight them in at such close range. I will say that I can't see the Red Dot being able to "Co-Witness on this rifle at all. The Auto Loader is a great addition but it doesn't work with all BB's. Hornady "Black Diamond" work fine but other BB's seem to jam in it namely "Copperheads" and "Daisy Precision". This also holds true for all the aforementioned "Full Auto" guns. They, like other guns, have a preference for certain ammo. I recommend this as an addition to the other full auto Replicas available on the market until the Government makes them Prohibited Weapons to help solve the gang shooting issues in our country by gang bangers using real firearms to kill each other. Please sign every petition you can find to stop the government from banning BB, Airsoft, and Paintaball guns because this new law they are trying to/ or passed is completely asinine and does nothing to stop real gun crime whatsoever!

AK1

Very fun bb gun to play with and realistic looking. Need an extra 1 or 2 mags, because you will quickly empty a clip o full auto. Bought a red dot sight, better that the iron sights. Excellent gun overall!

Shouldn't everyone have an AK type in their collection?

Thanks to Replica Air Guns, I already own a Hellboy, an MP40, an H & K MP5 K as well as the M1A1 and the Umarex Steel Storm. Who wouldn't want the AK1 to complete their collection. Yup, I thought so as well. Good build, though there is a lot of plastic in use. This rifle is incredibly fast if you put it into full auto, but don't expect it to be accurate unless you put it in semi-auto. I just wish that the foldout rear stock could lock into place when folded against the rifle body. Very realistic looking AK BB gun. Nice strong blowback action. Lots of rails to add vrs hardware. Great shooting experience. Wish Replica carried spare mags for me to purchase. My only cons would be that the drop out magazine is plastic and not metal and I am not impressed with the flash hider, but the latter is easy enough to replace.

AK1 Crossman. Spare Clips?

Not sure why you don’t stalk spare clips? I like the AK1 but need to know more about repairs and spare Parts. I am sure that a little bottle of the gun lube wouldn’t hurt. It’s the attention to details that would put you guy over the top.
