Model: P08 Luger
Materials: Full Metal
Weight: 834 g (1.84 lb)
Barrel: 4 Inches, Metal Non-Rifled
Power Source: 12 Gram CO2
Action: Single Action Only
Ammo Type: 4.5mm Steel BBs
Ammo Capacity: 15 Rounds
FPS: 370

Trigger Pull: The Single Action Only trigger pull on the KWC P-08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is really nice, it has a super short take-up with a very smooth light release. There really is no reset since the entire action is so short, so quick follow shots are fast and predictable. Of course, since this is a single action only trigger with no external hammer, you will need to pull the toggle back to chamber a BB and pre-cock the hammer for the first shot. The Blowback action will do this automatically for you on follow-up shots until the magazine is empty and the toggle locks back.

Accuracy: I did find the KWC P-08 Luger shot a bit high for me (about 3 inches at 30 feet out) and since the sights are nonadjustable, I would have to hold low on the target to make up for this but the KWC P08 did shoot well centered horizontally. Overall, the 10 shot grouping at 30 feet out was very good with the bulk of the shots staying within a 1-inch pattern and three shot coming outside stretching it out to about 2.5 inches.

Build Quality: The KWC P08 Luger CO2 Blowback BB Pistol is well built being that it is pretty much entirely metal. It weighs in at a beefy 1.84 pounds which is very close to the 1.92 pounds of the genuine real steel Luger. The only plastic to speak of would be in the grips and also the gas tube. As is with pretty much all KWC guns, they are powder coated so the finish looks great but can wear off in areas that protrude and/or see metal-on-metal friction.

Realism: The KWC P08 Luger is a really accurate replica of the actual Luger P08 and as far as I can tell, has all the same working parts, including the ability to field strip. I did find the finish to be perhaps a bit dark, I would have liked to have seen a more grey or bluish tint to it to get the KWC Luger P-08 more in line with the blued finish found on the real version.

Pros:

  • Nice heavy blowback toggle that locks back on last shot
  • Lots of metal and good overall weight, similar to real steel version
  • Decent FPS and accuracy
  • Very good replicas of a real Luger P-08 with all working parts
  • Really nice short and light single action trigger
  • Field strippable

Cons:

  • Paint wears off in high spots noticeably, seems to be typical with all KWC guns
  • Non-adjustable sights that seemed to shoot a bit high
  • Black paint may be a bit too dark, more grey or blue tone would have made it more realistic

Comments: Another classic ultra-realistic pistol from KWC! It's really nice to see more and more of these classic pistols showing up and from multiple manufacturers. I liked the Umarex version which was all metal and a good overall Luger replica, but KWC took it to the next level by adding blowback and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and BBs. If you're a Luger fan looking for ultra-realism, this is the one to go with!

Not happy with trigger function :-(

Very nice pistol, almost 100% replica of legendary Luger P08, unfortunately SA trigger is on the 5/10 quality, mushy and sometimes trigger do a surprise jumping pull from 5lbs to 12lbs .... If it wasn't for this trigger problem this BB pistol will get a 5 star from me!

Great value with high quality P08

Very impressed with this purchase . The sale price makes it an even better value. Feels very nice in the hand and it is solid. I haven't fired it yet so not sure of its accuracy. By far the best P08 I have seen. The handles are a little light and could be more solid but all in all not bad.

KWC P08 4.5 BB

Very accurate copy of a P08. Looks real and no seam lines on grip and trigger guard. Feel with blow back is awesome. Only negatives are not overly accurate I find and goes through a co2 cylinder in just over 2 clips 45-50 BBs thats why only 4 stars. I knew this going in but bought this more as a display piece and the blow back is a blast and for those reasons this is a great if not the best P08 replica.

Realistic

The gun looks ,feels and fired like the real thing. But only worked for 10 clip loads.I think it may be the clip. Shoots about 3 bbs then is out of air.

so cool...

I just had to get one of these for the cool factor alone , however since I have heardthat they can be brittle I have decided to just keep it as a collector piece and I haven't shot it yet.so it will just be kept in mint condition in the box.

Review may change in time

As of right now this is not a good air gun. Although very good replica. Either I have a lemon but this pistol is very picky of which Co2 you use. Have had jamming issues because of poor cycling of the toggle. Very possible this is a Co2 issue. My review may change as I try to find the right combo and break in of this pistol.

KWC P08 reliability

This pistol looked good and performed well for the first 12 CO2 bulbs, then went auto almost every time you squeezed the trigger. I don't shoot it because of this lack of control. QC is definitely an issue. Make a nice but expensive paper weight. Buy this if you desire auto action.

Expensive toy.

Looks like the original, but the lasting ability is questionable.Enjoyed shooting while it lasted. After 10- CO2 cylinders about 500 BB'sthe toggle has developed a hair line crack probably from the toggle slamming togetheron blowback. Creates a safety issue. Then again is it made of what I call white metal.Friends tell me the Umarex Legends is not any better.Without prejudice.

didnt last long

magazine valve blew after approx. 10 c02 cartridges, about 50.00 to replace, nice pistol, fun to shoot but it seems that it lacks staying power.

Amazing reproduction but brittle

I have always been a fan of the Luger P08, so I jumped at this repro. I was not disappointed at first; it looks and acts just like the real thing in every detail right down to field stripping details. I will give KWC full credits for realism.But. After about 200 rounds (two weeks) it started double-shooting. The trigger lockout system just wasn't working because the metal in the trigger system was just wearing out. I tried to adjust it with limited success, but the dry-firing in the meanwhile made the cheap pot-metal frame construction break from the striker hitting it with the magazine missing making the whole gun useless. I considered buying another just to reuse the magazine, but then the loader button on the magazine itself also broke off, so the magazine itself became useless.Bottom line: this is a wall decoration. It's a really pretty piece, but when you buy it, fire it rarely, and never fire it dry and it will probably serve you well. But use something else for plinking.

Make sure to also checkout my full Table Top Review where you will find more details and specifications for the KWC Luger P-08 Airsoft replica pistol which is virtually the same gun as the 4.5mm BB version with the only real difference being the ammo type and the amount of rounds per magazine (21 rounds for the 4.5mm BB version and 15 rounds for the 6mm Airsoft version).

I have also already made a full Field Test Shooting Review for the Airsoft version of this CO2 Blowback Pistol where I got very similar results using slightly heavier .25 gram Airsoft BB's so again, make sure to checkout that YouTube Video Filed Test Review.

Basically in this YouTube video, I shoot the 4.5mm Steel BB version of the KWC P-08 Luger head to head against the Airsoft Version to see how they compare in terms of Feet Per Second speed and Accuracy from30 feet away from a paper target using a semi rested shooting stance. As expected the heavier 4.5mm Steel BB's shot a bit slower but did seem to have a slight advantage in the accuracy department.
