Customer Reviews for Crosman DPMS SBR Full-Auto CO2 BB Rifle

Brand: Crosman

Type: BB Rifle
Manufacturer: Crosman
Model: DPMS SBR
Materials: Metal and Polymer
Weight: 6.2 lb (2817 g)
Barrel: Smoothbore
Power Source: 2x 12g CO2 cartridges
Action: Semi-Automatic/Full-Automatic
Ammo Type: 4.5mm Steel BBs
Ammo Capacity: 25 Rounds
FPS: 430

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the Crosman DPMS SBR BB Rifle is single action only since the charging handle must be cocked first before you can shoot it. The trigger is short and fairly light but not too light that a misfire can happen easily. This M4 rifle makes for a great action shooter in semi-auto or full-auto mode!

Accuracy: My first volley was with 10 rounds in semi-auto firing mode and resulted in a tight grouping with 8 out of 10 shots landing within ¾-inches. I then adjusted the sector switch to the much more fun full-auto mode for the 15 remaining rounds and let her rip until the bolt locked back. To be honest I was fairly surprised at how tight the group was. It only spread out to about 2 inches with not too much vertical drop, so velocity remained pretty consistent.

Build Quality: The Crosman DPMS SBR is well made all around. Weighing in at 6.2 pounds, it feels sturdy and solid. There is a lot of metal both inside and out, but keep in mind the top and bottom receiver are polymer. Pretty much all the movie parts are metal, including the magazine, the internals, the buffer tube and the barrel.

Realism: The Crosman DPMS SBR is about as real as you are going to get in a blowback M4 style airgun. You can even take it apart into the top and bottom receivers like the real steal version. The blowback action gives you some recoil but more importantly offers a true single action trigger and of course the full auto ability we all love. Almost all the moving parts work like they would on a real M4, other than the forward assist which is molded into the receiver.

Pros:

  • Most realistic M4/AR BB rifle on the market
  • Full blowback operation with both semi and full auto shooting
  • Fires up to 430 FPS, over 1400 rounds per minute
  • Quadrail handguard provides room for laser and light accessories
  • Equipped with angled forgrip
  • Adjustable six position butt stock

Cons:

  • Receiver is a polymer construction
  • Magazine has a limited 25rd capacity
  • Rear buttstock is not compatible with the AR platform

Comments: There's nothing not to love about the Crosman DPMS BB Rifle! The compact SBR (short barrel rifle) setup is lightweight and agile, perfect for target practice in full-auto mode. It's easy to upgrade with your choice of RIS accessories, and comes with some pre-installed features like flip-up iron sights and an angled forward grip. With an authentic single action trigger, functioning charging handle, and powerful blowback system, this gun provides an ultra-realistic M4 rifle firing experience!

Extreme fun sport shooter

Just received this Crosman product yesterday and tried it at the club today...Wow what a ride, this is my first blowback gun and the feel of it is amaizing, especially in full auto. Accuracy is very good, taking in account that this is a sport shoorter and BB, I placed 20 out of 25 shots in a 1 inch circle at 13 meters using the "AIM SPORTS Prismatic Series 4x32" that I ordered along with the gun. Few guys shooting real rifles beside me could not help but ask where I bought this gun...I think Crosman will sell 2 more of these guns this week LOL !!! Definitely recommand it to anyone ! And, by the way I could get 150 shots out of the 2 CO2 with mix semi-auto and full-auto...not too bad !!!

Great gun for the $$$

A very fun M4 replica indeed. Highly recommend using Hornady black diamond BBs in this gun. Speed loader works great for me. Do not overfill it, give it a shake after loading and run a half dozen clicks of BBs though it before really using it to help break it in. It works much better after a few mags of use. Works well enough that reloading takes but seconds and I do not need to buy a second mag anymore. If you overfill it and push too hard you could break the plunger. Butt Stock is a replica Magpul UBR, too bad they didn't do a slightly better job or make the lower portion compatible with a real Magpul UBR lower for expanded add-on possibilities. Would have liked to see Crosman make the whole butt stock M4/AR15 compatible but they have some mechanism integrated into the front area making them have to perma mount it to the receiver. Grip is M4 compatible allowing for other grip options. Plastic barrel suppressor screws off CCW and uses a 14mm CCW thread. Any Airsoft suppressor or barrel extender and/or flash hider in 14mm CCW threading will work on this gun giving you many many cool appearance options. Needs a dot sight.

The best from crossman

Usually Crossman don't last with my style of shooting, but this one is holding its own with no problems. I like the idea of having one or two Co2 in the mag for use. Nice weight and feel of the rifle. It goes through Co2 fast on full auto, but it a lot of fun. Accuracy is really good 1 1/2in grouping in full auto at 17 to 20 feet away.

A ton of fun and a ton of value

I have owned mine for only a short while, a couple weeks. I have had a TON of fun with it. If you wish to do shorter shooting sessions you have the option of only using 1 of the 2 Co2 slots. The power fall off starts to become bad by the 4th mag but I can get 3 full mags of shooting and with a little body heat can get a 4th off too (the more auto the less endurance you'll get and if you're thinking of doing a lot of full auto I'd use 2). Like most Co2 powered guns if you do a mag dump you will see the power drop noticeably but if you shoot in bursts the power stays fairly constant. The speed loader gets a lot of deserved flack for being fussy on BB's. Umarex and Daisy BB's will NOT feed through the loader but shoot fine out of the rifle. A small catch on the follower on the Mag would have made loading 100x easier. Hornady Black Diamond BB's WILL work in the speed loader. If after a few thousand it won't feed regular BB's I'll discontinue using it. I won't pay a premium to use the speed loader and frankly it's a gross oversight for Crosman not to put a notch in there. 2-3mm of milling and the entire issue with the speed loader, etc vanishes. The rifle itself is metal and plastic but feels solid and has a nice mass to it. My Red-dot mounted without issue and for a smooth bore BB fun it shoots pretty tight at 20 feet and is more than enough to deal gruesome doom on aluminum cans. I have had no failures with it despite reading some worrisome reviews elsewhere. Other than burning through my Co2 supply in a hurry I have no faults with the gun.. so far!
