Trigger Mechanics: The trigger on this model exhibits a relatively light pull in both single and double-action modes. In both settings, the initial pull feels consistent, but in single-action, there's minimal resistance until nearing the final stage where the hammer releases.

Shooting Precision: The STI averaged 373 FPS in terms of velocity. At 30 feet, the firearm maintained a tight 2-inch grouping, particularly in horizontal alignment.

Manufacturing Excellence: ASG has excelled in crafting the STI Duty One 1911. The choice to utilize a polymer frame is the only significant concession, as crucial components like the slide, slide catch, safety, magazine release, hammer, barrel, and magazine are all crafted from metal. The overall assembly and finishing touch are commendable.

Authenticity: The ASG STI Duty One 1911 mirrors the real STI 1911 closely, with the main distinction being the unique trigger design. Despite this difference, the STI Duty One remains an excellent representation of the original, complete with STI's official licensing and trademarks.

Pros:

  • Optimal blend of metal and polymer materials.
  • Functional metal slide and slide catch.
  • Exceptional build quality and fitting.
  • Enhanced CO2 efficiency compared to its blowback counterpart.
  • Windage-adjustable rear sight.
  • Metallic drop-out magazine.
  • Comfortable and solid grip.

Cons:

  • The trigger design diverges from the classic 1911 style.
  • Lacks an operational grip safety.
  • Extracting CO2 can be challenging.

Comments:

Comparing the non-blowback (NBB) and blowback versions of the ASG STI Duty One 1911, without actual firing tests, reveals striking similarities, including the presence of double and single-action triggers in the NBB variant. The slide function seems equivalent in both models. Given their similar high FPS and accuracy levels, one might lean towards the blowback model for its quicker and lighter single-action trigger response. The primary drawback of the blowback variant is its higher CO2 consumption, yet it still delivers an impressive rate of about 100 shots per CO2 cartridge, a notable efficiency for a CO2-powered blowback pistol.

Disappointing

An ASG BB pistol meant to be on the cheaper side with the NBB, that trigger, and just overall presence of workable features. You can rack the slide to cock it there is not blowback. The double action trigger I found a little uneven and even though single action is nice and light it is also not completely predictable. I find myself spraying shots all over the place when I accidentally fire. Even when I do get a nice smooth rhythm the more than powerful enough really uninspired 1911 replica still has trouble with any kind of tight grouping. I think this is quite poor value for the dollar and really I only bought it to put the silencer I have on it. Now that I think about it I might not have bought it from here because I think I bought it with the silencer. Nonetheless, not the best offering by AGS.

Truth be told

I really like the gun, haven't used it much due to weather and as far as accuracy it could be me just not used to the gun as yet.

a must have...like ALL 1911 replicas

I was not disappointed when I received my duty one after watching the review...this gun feels awesome in hand...handles well and has a nice blowback feel and isn't too shabby in anti the accuracy depth either...A must have for your collection in my opinion and isn't overpriced! Great value!
