Trigger Pull: Extremely nice. There is virtually zero take-up with a light and easy release. You can hammer out quick shots with this airsoft pistol. Other than the Strike Warrior .45, this is one of the best 1911 triggers I have tested so far.

Build Quality: On the outside it is mostly plastic (slide and part of the frame). That said, the quality is fantastic. Fit and finish is top notch and you will find metal parts where they need to be in the inner and outer barrel, hammer, slide catch release, back strap safety, trigger group, magazine, and more internal parts.

Realism: The Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R is built on the Colt .45 1911 design but a modernized and tactical version of the classic gun. The only design factor that separates the Tokyo Marui from a traditional 1911 is the lack of a barrel bushing, which makes field stripping and access to the gun internals a little easier. You still get that 1911 feel and awesome single action only trigger with your thumb safety and slide catch release in all the familiar places. Of course, the grip safety works as you would expect on a 1911.

Pros:

  • High strength polymer slide with virtually no slide wiggle
  • Double stack magazine has high 31 round capacity
  • Super fast blowback great for quick action shooting
  • Light and crisp flat-faced SAO feels great
  • Removable rear sight to accommodate for included red dot mounting plate
  • Easily field-strippable to access the hop-up
  • Ambidextrous thumb safeties and working grip safety
  • Optional rail plate included

Cons:

  • No traditional 1911 barrel bushing
  • No white dots on rear sight

Comments: So far I have reviewed three Tokyo Marui airsoft pistols and all have impressed me. Even with a mostly plastic build, these pistols still feel and shoot great even if they are on the light side. That may be a plus for some people who want a lightweight sidearm not weighing them down on the field. The plastic slides cycle fast and are super snappy. When combined with short and light triggers you can pop off rounds amazingly fast and on target. For the price I think any of the Tokyo Marui guns would be a great choice. I do have a soft spot for 1911s, so the Tokyo Marui Hi-Capa 5.1 D.O.R GBB Airsoft Pistol would be my choice out of the three I have reviewed so far.
