Customer Reviews for Umarex SA10 Blowback BB/Pellet Gun

BB PistolPellet Pistol.
Model: SA10.
Materials: Metal & Polymer.
Weight: 2.05 pounds (930 grams).
Barrel: Metal rifled.
Propulsion: 12g CO2 x 1.
Action: Semi-auto blowback, single & double action.

Ammunition Capacity: 8x4 round rotary full-size drop-out metal magazine.
FPS: Claimed 420.

Trigger Mechanism: The trigger mechanism on the Umarex SA10 CO2 Blowback Pellet and BB Pistol aligns with the common characteristics found in rotary magazine pellet pistols. The blowback feature cocks the hammer, facilitating a lighter single-action type trigger pull. However, the length of the trigger pull mirrors that of a double-action mode. While the hammer is cocked, the trigger requires less force, though the initial part of the pull rotates the magazine.

Performance Test: In our standard indoor Sea Can Field Test Shooting sessions, velocity is tested first. The Umarex SA10, capable of firing both 4.5mm Steel BBs and .177 caliber pellets, was tested with both types of ammunition using a Chrony Chronograph. Three shots of each were fired to calculate an average fps velocity. Notably, the 6.9-grain lead pellets achieved a higher average velocity of 376 fps compared to 304 fps with the 5.1 grain Steel BBs, likely due to a tighter barrel fit preventing CO2 leakage and generating more back pressure. In the accuracy test, .177 caliber lead pellets achieved roughly a 2-inch grouping over eight shots. The majority of these shots were tightly grouped within a half-inch, with three outliers stretching the group vertically. Using steel BBs widened the groupings to about 3 inches, with one shot significantly off-mark, though the shots remained generally centered.

Construction Quality: The Umarex SA10 exhibits excellent balance and solidity. It features a metal slide and polymer frame, alongside numerous internal metal components and a full-size, drop-out metal magazine. The craftsmanship, from fit to finish, is commendable.

Design Authenticity: While the Umarex SA10 doesn’t replicate a specific real steel firearm, its design shares similarities with a Sig Sauer, incorporating unique elements. It boasts authentic features such as blowback action, a comprehensive drop-out metal magazine, an open barrel design, and field-strip capability, enhancing its realism.

Pros:

  • Impressive weight and build quality.
  • Equipped with an accessory rail for attachments.
  • Innovative magazine design supports quick reloading and the choice between Steel BBs or pellets.
  • Rifled barrel for improved accuracy.
  • Aesthetic gold barrel with a detachable tip for accessory options.
  • Integrated slide catch and safety feature.
  • Simplified field stripping process.
  • Subtle warning labels.

Cons:

  • Lacks adjustable or highlighted front sights.
  • Decorative trigger safety.
  • Not modeled after a specific real firearm.

Comments:

Anticipation for the Umarex SA10 CO2 Blowback Pellet and BB Pistol was high, and initial impressions suggest a well-constructed airgun, pending further testing. Despite typically favoring replicas, the SA10's design and functionality are appealing, including the distinctive magazine and the flexibility to use both Pellets and BBs.

This gun was a positive surprise

I wasn't sure what to expect when I bought this but this gun. It is really under-rated. I pulled it down, oiled the inner friction areas and this gun went BANG!... almost like a real gun. The blowback was also pleasant surprise. Just a note, the hammer must be cocked to put the slide back on (i learned the long way). I never tested the C02 longevity but I guess it should be comparable to most pistol blowbacks. You can't loose with this purchase.

The best pistol for its price!

The delivery by replica airguns was fast and the pistol itself is wonderful. I would recommend specifically buying the sa10 from replica airguns! The best part about it is that they also carry spare magazines and other accessories for it. Really satisfied by my purchase!

Fun!

Fun gun to shoot. Burns through pellets. Need to take some time between shots because fps drops very quickly. But it doesn't matter that much, still a lot of fun.

Amazing a bit loud

Amazing pellet pistol. Just a bit loud I'm thinking of getting a moderator to quiet it down a bit but couldn't find one. Replica airguns rock on time delivery.

100% worth buying.

Nice looking gun with an exposed "gold" barrel in the Salient Arms style and it appears to be a Zev Technologies OZ 9 replica. Its weight and feel are realistic. Hard hitting blowback action. After 100 shots, it seems very accurate. Consistent 2" groups @ 25', shooting while seated, and rested in a sand bag. If I'm going to nitpick, there are a few minor issues 1.) Occasionally, a rotary mag will fall out of the drop out mag when ejected. No big deal on a table, but might be problematic in the field. 2.) The addition of a rotary mag WITHOUT a metal hub is confusing. 3.) CO2 screw is recessed and plastic, while the rest of the mag is metal. It's a little awkward to use, but fortunately the threads are coarse, so you can get the powerlet seated quickly, without any loss of gas. 4.) Black front sight gets lost in dark and black targets. A touch of paint easily solves that though. Minor issues aside, this is a great gun at a great price. I'd highly recommend adding this to your collection. P.S. And once again, fantastic shipping. I ordered the gun on Sunday morning and I was shooting it Tuesday afternoon. Tough to beat that.

Almost awesome. Almost

I really want to give a better rating than 4, but I can't. It's not quite perfect. The look, weight, feel, and trigger are very nice. The 5" rifled barrel should provide pinpoint accuracy. There are, however, a few tiny design issues. The sights are fixed, the co2 screw tab is plastic and recessed, the rotary mags fall of the magazine. The false trigger safety is a missed opportunity. These are all very minor and don't really take anything away from this gun. The big problem is the amount of slop the slide has. Particularly at the business end. The front sight will be in a different spot every shot. A simple bushing, even a plastic one, would have made this a truly awesome gun. Perhaps, in the spirit of this piece, one could machine a bushing and add the odd shim here and there. Maybe a steel guide rod. That is my take. It's very handsome. It fits nicely in my hand. It's pretty efficient. And despite my whining, it still keeps a 2" group at 20 ft. An excellent start

One if the best!

Bang for buck this is my top pick. Very nice snappy kick for a bb pistol. Very easy trigger pull too. This checks all the boxes: metal slide, full mag, bb & pellet, blowback, etc AND comes in on a budget price. It's not as "realistic" as say the Sig P226 X-Five but performs arguably just as well. Would recommend this or the Glock 19 to a first time buyer or budget buyer.
