Type: Airsoft Pistols
Manufacturer: KWC
Model: M1932/M712 Schnellfeuer
Materials: Full metal
Weight: 1.42 kg (3.15 lbs)
Barrel: 127 mm (5 in), metal, non-rifled
Power Source: 12 g CO2 x 1
Action: Semi-Automatic/Full-Automatic, single-action only with full blowback
Ammo Type: 6 mm Airsoft BBs
Ammo Capacity: 21 rounds
FPS: 400+

Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KWC M712 Airsoft Pistol is what you would expect from a full blowback, true single-action only pistol. It has a little bit of take-up and a fairly light, smooth release. When in full-auto mode, just press and hold the trigger until the ammo is gone. Don't hold the trigger too long though, because the gun will keep firing when the BBs run out due to the bolt not locking back when emptied.

Accuracy: It took me a while to figure out exactly where this pistol was actually shooting. Once I realized it was shooting high and I adjusted the rear sight all the way to the bottom, I started getting shots onto the paper. I did have to hold really low to get near the bullseye. Overall, the accuracy at 30 feet out was very good as I got about a 2 inch group with 10 shots. Full-auto was, as you would expect, more of a spray and pray. I was surprised by the FPS performance – even with .25 g airsoft BBs I still shot well over 400 FPS on a new CO2 cartridge.

Build Quality: The pistol is well built being that it does have full metal construction. It weighs in at a whopping 3.15 pounds so be prepared for a heavier gun. You can choose to hold it two handed by using the forward magazine like a foregrip. The fit and finish looks and feels good. I really liked the dark grey finish and very believable plastic wood grain grips.

Realism: The KWC M712 Airsoft Pistol is spot on replica of the M1932/M712 Schnellfeuer with all the same working parts including the semi and full-auto selector switch. The pistol also has a full working bolt, hammer, safety, adjustable rear sight, and a full size drop out metal magazine that holds the CO2 and BBs.

Pros:

  • Quick and snappy blowback action for bolt
  • Full metal construction has realistic weight and feel
  • Very high FPS and good accuracy
  • Detailed replica of the Original Mauser (M1932/M712 Schnellfeuer) with all working parts
  • Short and light single-action trigger
  • Equipped with both semi-auto and full-auto firing mode
  • Comes in 4.5 mm steel BB and 6 mm airsoft

Cons:

  • Bolt does not lock back on last shot
  • Seemed to shoot really high even when adjusted as low as possible
  • Blowback system and full-auto firing increases CO2 consumption

Comments: Overall, the KWC M712 Airsoft Pistol is the all-metal version we hoped Umarex had made. This one is available in both 4.5 mm steel BB and 6 mm plastic airsoft so this should make everyone pretty happy :). Other than the rather high shot placement, I really liked the KWC M712, especially the super high FPS and ultra-fast rate of fire in full-auto mode. Another must have classic war pistol to add to the collection!

This gun slaps

Seriously impressed with this one. Fantastic weight, front heavy of course but feels real. Fairly accurate and of course that full auto. This thing just feels really nice all around, and I enjoy how the spring in the magazine isn't needlessly strong, allowing you to pull it down with ease. Overall, the feel and smoothness is just

The Chinese Hacksaw

Before WW2, China had strict import laws that banned anything larger than a pistol. These automatic M712s were used en masse to help take down the emperor and establish communism in China; regime topplers, german design and often fired sideways to make the recoil move the gun horizontally rather than vertically the Chinese Hacksaw was a force to be reckoned with and now you can have a faithful recreation. I haven't been able to find a legitimate stock for this; although the slot for it is indeed in the back of the grip. There is also some conversion kits for this gun that look like a lot of fun. Count your shots on semi, count two seconds on auto and you shouldn't have a problem dry firing the gun as often.

A bit pricey but cool to shoot

It is a bit pricey but it is cool to shoot . 2 or 2.5 mag with a co2 cartridge . At the end of the co2b cartridge will shoot full auto and drain it . Crazy rate of fire on full auto , 2 seconds to shoot the 21 bbs . Shots kind of high got to aim low . Beautiful replica

Fun and beautiful but with a few flaws

First, this is a hoot. It looks great, very much like the real Mauser. And it shoots full auto, which is great fun. It's all metal, has as accurate an action as you can expect, and many of the flaws in the original are present here (terrible sights, uncomfortable grip, nose-forward balance point in the extreme). I won't fault it for any of those: that's just superb replica detail. However, it shoots very high, about 3cm at 5m. And the bolt doesn't lock back on empty (I can appreciate why, looking at the mechanism, but still it should) and that means you'll probably fire dry once (or ten times on auto) before you realize your mag is empty. That's aggravating. I'll live.

Pure liquid wunderbar

I just recieved two of these in the mail this morning with a couple of extra mags and I've got to say, the full auto with the pair of them is positively schnell-furious. Hefty solid construction and a good bit of fun. Maybe a touch too hot for cqb but i am super satisfied with my purchase.

awesome gun!

the barrel keeps coming loose when u burst fire but LockTite blue keeps it secured. also the paint is rubbish but if you weather the look with a magic eraser it looks awesome. got nice weight to it and the metal seems like really good quality.. the blow-back is minimal at most but unlike the prototype the gun doesn't shoot high anymore and is really accurate...you should buy a speed loader with this gun. also it does eat a quite a bit of gas but on semi. i can get around 4 magazines with 1 CO 2. overall awesome gun

Several Glitches But Overall A Must Have

This gun is very heavy and looks just like real. There's only a few engraves on the left side of the gun and empty on the right. You will not see lots of text like "Not a Toy!"Its accuracy is very good and it does not shoot high at all. It seems that it consumes CO2 very fast. Maybe because of its high FPS.The only bad thing I can think of is that sometimes it changes to full-auto automatically when it's on Semi-auto mode. I cannot figure out what causes this but I think it's probably related to the CO2.

I've already done a full Table Top Review that included a Pre-test for this war pistol replica where you will find more details and specifications for the KWC Mauser Airsoft pistol. In this official Field Test Shooting Video, I do my standard Chronograph test where I shoot a series of .25 gram 6mm Plastic Airsoft BB's using a brand new CO2 cartridge to see what kind of real word Feet Per Second performance I can get out of the KWC Mauser CO2 Blowback Airsoft Pistol. On this medium temperature day I averaged a very quick 415 fps which may be a bit hot for most Airsoft matches. The temperature was fairly cool at 14 Celsius or 57 Fahrenheit so the fps will only get faster on a warmer day. In this preview-review video we take a quick look at the KWC P-08 Luger and KWC Mauser C96 CO2 powered Blowback Airsoft pistols. I will be doing a full table top and field test shooting video for each gun so make sure to check back for them later. I even do a quick comparison to the same style 4.5mm BB pistol offerings from Umarex I already reviewed, the Umarex P-08 and Umarex C96.
