Trigger Action: The trigger resistance on the KWC Metal Slide CQBP M45 A1 Non-Blowback CO2 BB Pistol falls into the medium to hard category, although I've encountered more substantial trigger forces in other models. The 1911-style trigger is a nice touch, differentiating it from the lever-style triggers found on some 1911 imitations. A lever-style trigger might have offered more leverage, potentially lightening the pull.

Precision Expectations: While I haven't personally tested the KWC Metal Slide CQBP M45 A1 for accuracy, I anticipate its performance to mirror that of the Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms due to similar internal mechanisms. For an interim assessment, refer to my Sig Sauer GSR Sigarms review where I described achieving a 2.5-inch grouping from 20 feet, slightly off to the left and above the target. After adjusting to the trigger, accuracy improved. Chronograph tests showed velocities close to the claimed 397 FPS, peaking at 422 FPS for an 8-shot average.

Construction Assessment: The KWC Metal Slide CQBP M45 A1 boasts a commendable mix of metal and plastic components. Its metal slide, magazine, and barrel contribute to a satisfying heft, with an overall pleasing build quality. However, the plastic trigger and hammer, more ornamental than functional, could be improved in terms of material quality.

Authenticity: This model convincingly replicates an M45 1911 A1, featuring a metal magazine that fully drops out, functional magazine release, and safety. However, the slide catch release and hammer are purely aesthetic and non-operational, which detracts slightly from the realism. Ideally, a single-action trigger and operational slide would enhance this model, but it remains a solid entry-level option.

Pros:

  • Notable weight due to the ABS receiver and metal components.
  • Incorporates metal in the slide, magazine, and internal mechanisms.
  • The magazine accommodates both CO2 and BBs.
  • Accurately resembles a tactical 1911 A1.
  • Expected high FPS and efficient CO2 usage based on similar models.
  • Equipped with a rail for accessory attachments.
  • Features prominent white dot sights.
  • The recessed barrel enhances realism.
  • Mimics a true 1911 trigger style, albeit with double-action functionality.
  • Authentic 1911 safety mechanism.

Cons:

  • Lacks blowback action; the slide remains static.
  • The hammer moves without enabling single-action firing.
  • Rear sight is fixed and cannot be adjusted.
  • Trigger pull is somewhat stiff and lengthy, affecting rapid-fire capability.

Comments:

The KWC Metal Slide CQBP M45 A1 Non-Blowback CO2 BB Pistol is an excellent choice for those seeking an affordable, well-crafted 1911 model with updated features like a Picatinny rail and tactical sights. While it misses out on blowback action and a functional slide, its robust construction and significant metal content provide a solid and realistic feel. The trade-offs include fewer mechanical issues over time and the potential for high FPS and CO2 efficiency. For individuals prioritizing these aspects over dynamic slide action, this pistol offers substantial value.

KWC CQBP M45 A1 CO2 NBB Airsoft Pistol: Good field sidearm for back-up

Bought two of these with a bunch of extra-mags to have as backup sidearm on the "battlefield", and in that capacity they're fine and the price can't be beat. Fairly accurate at CQB distances, good power for sure. 5-6 mags of power before drop-off. VERY quick reloading of mags is a plus. Added a compact flashlight on lower rail for a cool look.
