Trigger Pull: The trigger pull on the KJWORKS KP-06 is what you would expect from a true 1911 single action only trigger, it has very little take up with a smooth crisp and super light release to it.
Accuracy: I shot the KJWORKS HI-CAPA KP-06 from 30 feet out in semi rested position and got very good test results. I was able to place 10 rounds in the 2 inch range with most of the shots being very well centered (sights can be adjusted for windage and elevation if need be). The KJWORKS HP-06 1911 styled HI-CAPA Airsoft Replica shot right around 331 fps range on this mid temperature day while conducting my 5 shot average chronograph test. The blowback recoil is very heavy due to the large full length blowback slide and the green fiber optic sights are a joy to use.
Build Quality: As expected, the KJWORKS KP-06 build quality is just like all the other KJWORKS Airsoft guns I've tested so far, excellent the fit and finish is the best in my opinion even when compared to my 4.5mm steel BB shooters. When using these guns regularly, areas that are painted like the metal friction areas show very light wear which is rarely the case with metal built blowback airguns. Again the tolerances between the moving parts like the slide and frame are very tight showing excellent workmanship and machining from KJWorks.
Realism: The KJWORKS KP-06 6mm Airsoft Pistol is a replica of a Tactical High Capacity styled 1911 45 Auto and is a great looking and functioning replica. You will not find any actual licensing on this pistol and the CO2 magazine does stick out a bit to accommodate the 12 gram CO2 but other than that this Airsoft pistol looks and works near exactly like a real 1911 tactical semi auto and is fully field strip-able.
Pretty much all metal pistol with good weight to it.
Full length heavy blowback operation.
Excellent fit and finish as always with KJWorks pistols.
High capacity full size drop out magazine that holds 28 rounds.
Very accuracy and well centered on target.
Like the green dot fiber optic sights and fully adjustable rear sight.
Like the stainless highlights and ambidextrous safety and long rail for accessories.
Grips are wide, may not fit the hands of small shooters.
FPS was not super high but gets the job done.
To fully field strip this pistol requires tools.
Comments: The KJWorks KP-06 1911 HI-CAPA is another excellent full blowback Airsoft pistol from KJWorks. It is a rather large Airsoft pistol, overall wider, longer and thicker than a standard 1911 so small hands may not be suited to this pistol but if you can manage the KJWorks KP-06, you will be treated with a very responsive and highly reliable Airsoft gun. I really like the updated more tactical add ons like the super long tactical lower rail, machined trigger and hammer, fiber optic adjustable sights, textured grips and ambidextrous safety. The quality on all KJWorks Airsoft guns is top notch so yes they do cost a bit more but you really do get what you pay for here, the KJWorks HI-CAPA KP-06 will look good and perform well for a very long time so your return on investment is well worth it!
I bought a KP-06 a week ago and have put a box of 25 CO2's through it already. The gun is that fun to shoot. It has only 2 drawbacks that I can see. The first is you get about 2- 2 & 1/2 magazines a CO2 cartridge. This will not matter one bit to you though as this gun has shocking recoil, and even more shocking sounds going on. The metal clack's of that huge, long heavy slide is going to captivate any automatic pistol fans. Then there is that sound???!!!?? This is without a doubt the most loud airgun I have ever seen, heard or fired! In my indoor shooting range I had to put on hearing protection as the first 40=50 shots on a CO2 will make your ears ring every single shot. It took 6 hours for the ringing to stop. Indoors this gun makes your ears ring as hard as a .38 special will without wearing hearing protection. The gun is just ridiculously loud indoors. Outdoors it dissipates dramatically, but indoors the gun will make you jump on occasion. I am still just getting used to it. I would say this gun feels like firing off the real steel AMT Automag II in .22 magnum. It has the same sound and the same sort of recoil and heft of gun going on. This gun simply ROCKS! It is without a doubt the best gun in my ever growing collection. Last night I set up some combat targets and handed the pistol over to my wife. She missed only one shot out of 2 CO2's worth of shots she went through. My wife if very petite. She handled the large grips and recoil just fine. So anyone with smaller hands can heft this beast too. The other negative point is one Michael already pointed out. Take down of the barrel assembly needs tools to do it. However this is it! There is not one other thing you could ever find to nit pick about. The KWC guns are beautiful, but they are brittle. I have had a number of guns lose parts off their frame or parts of the mechanics. These K J Works guns are made so well and of much better metal that I think you may have a gun that if you take good care of it...you could own it pretty much forever. Everything is easily fixable with a few tools and basic knowledge. You can get both Gas and CO2 magazines. I was so impressed by this gun that I bought K J Works CZ-75 P-09 Duty CO2 blowback, and also their KP-01 that is a Sig Sauer P226. I love that there are very few markings. There are only a couple of companies out there that do proper reproductions without all the warnings and other terrible unnecessary printing on the guns. However the few companies that do the true reproductions like Stark Arms Glock's can't have longer barrel's or other modifications that allow you to get to the necessary 366 FPS or higher...so the guns can be imported and meet Canadian limits and laws. These K J Works airsoft guns have just 2 markings on them. They often stamp the barrel with .45 Auto or the appropriate caliber. So that is a total plus. However not all guns have this done. So some pistols might just have the one manufacturer marking. The only other markings is this manufacture marking around the trigger guard of the right side of the gun. It looks like this below. K J Works Made In Taiwan I am buying the entire K J Works series of Airsoft Pistols. I have 3. Now to buy the other 8-10. They do a Glock 23 too. Lately they are teaming up with ASG, so the ASG line of guns like the CZ-75 series is now being produced. But at the standards of K J Works, which is just spectacular build quality. This gun will be the gem in your collection. The couple of flaws are so minor I have to give this gun full marks in every category. I am willing to bet all the K J Works guns are going to be something special to own. Try them out!
This is a table top review of the KJWorks KP-06 1911 HI-CAPA Blowback Airsoft Pistol. I show you around the guns and walk you through its basic operation and handling. I also do a quick pre-field test to see how the KP-06 performs using my Chrony Chronograph to see what the real world fps velocity actually is and I shoot the KJWorks HP-06 from 30 feet out on a target to see what kind of accuracy you can expect from this KJWORKS Airsoft pistol.
